Shillong, Jan 1: Meghalaya made 224 in their first innings of their first U-25 Col CK Nayudu Trophy match of the season against Haryana in Mangaldai, Assam, today.

After being made to bat first on losing the toss, Meghalaya’s Kevin Christopher (pictured) top-scored with 53 in the middle of the order, with Kush Agarwal contributing 30, Ram Gurung 29, PM Santhosh 25 not out and Jaskirat Singh Sachdeva 22.

Meghalaya were in quite a bit of difficulty at 133/7 until Christopher and Gurung put on 44 for the eighth wicket. The tail really did wag, with Gurung, Santhosh and Aryan Bora (13) helping to get the team over 200.

Haryana had to face just one over before stumps and they finished the day on 6/0.
