Shillong, Aug 1: After four seasons plying his trade away from home, Phrangki Buam is returning to Shillong Lajong FC, it was revealed by the club yesterday.

Buam most recently played for Real Kashmir FC in the I-League and had also had a stint with Mohammedan Sporting in 2021-22 on loan from FC Goa.

He left Lajong for Goa after the 2018-19 season but never featured for them in the Indian Super League, though he was used by them in the Asian Champions League.

Buam’s return to Lajong completes a full circle for the attacking midfielder.

He is one of several players to be roped back into Lajong, who recently re-qualified for the I-League. The club will also take part in this month’s Durand Cup from 4th August.

Other ex-Lajong players to be making a comeback to SLFC include goalkeeper Neithovilie Chalieu (from Mawlai SC) and defenders Kynsailang Khongsit and Kenstar Kharshong (both from Kenkre FC).
