Shillong, Sep 6: Laitkroh SC and Pommura SC won their respective Group D matches in the Shillong Sports Association’s U-20 Fourth Division at Third Ground, Polo, here today.
While Laitkroh defeated Risa Colony SC 2-1, Pommura pipped Diengpasoh SC 1-0.
Ronnystar Lyngdoh (14′) and Samlanghaki Warlarpih (43′) scored in the first game for Laitkroh, sandwiching Risa Colony’s goal, which was provided by Saryngkat K Marbah (37′).
Later, Andystar Kharsati (54′) scored his fourth goal of the season for Pommura. He has so far accounted for all but two of his club’s goals this season.
Group D is the most closely contested of the four groups this season, with no team having yet reached double figures in the points table.
Pommura currently have 7 points, with Laitkroh on 6; both have played four matches each. Mawkriah West SC have earned 5 but have a game in hand. Then come three teams on 4 points each – Diengpasoh, Risa Colony and Mawnianglah SC – with Mawlyngngad SC bringing up the rear with 2. Of these four clubs, only Diengpasoh has played four games, with the others having played three each.
