Shillong, Sep 7: An absolutely extraordinary match in Group A of the Shillong Sports Association’s U-20 Fourth Division saw Iatyllilang SC twice come from a goal behind to win 7-3 against Lamlynti SC of Sohiong at Third Ground, Polo, here today.
The other match of the group saw Lumpyngngad SC edge Laitlulong SC by a more mundane 2-1 margin.
Lamlynti got the action-packed match off to a flier with Dibanson Thabah scoring in the seventh minute but this was cancelled out a little while later by Melawantei Kharmuti (9′) of Iatyllilang. Thabah then restored Lamlynti’s lead (25′) only for a string of goals by their opponents then change the fixture completely.
These goals were scored by Iatyllibor Mynsong (31′), Rijoelang Lawai (34′), Badonbor Nongdkhar (36′) and Banpyndap Ryndon (40′) on either side of half time in the 70-minute match.
Kharmuti (52′) then made it 6-2 with his second strike of the game and Wellbanroy Kurkalang (62′) further extended Iatyllilang’s advantage. All that was left was for Pynche Khyllait (69′) to score a consolation goal at the end of the contest.
Later, Donlang Kharsyiemiong (29′) and Novidance Jonsoi (57′) scored for Lumpyngngad and Lamphrang Jana (34′) for Laitlulong.
Lamlynti and Laitlulong have now lost all four of their matches this season and both have the same -9 goal difference, though Lamlynti are placed higher on account of goals scored (4 to 2).
Lumpyngngad now have 7 points and Iatyllilang 6 from five and four matches and are fourth and fifth in the group table respectively.
