Shillong, Jan 27: The Talent Search Sports Development Association has appointed Bisharlang Pyngrope as its Secretary for East Khasi Hills, it was announced recently.
Pyngrope, from Mawlyngngad village, is a teacher and has also involved himself in the promotion of sports. He is the General Secretary of Mawlyngngad Sports Social & Cultural Club.
The TSSDA ostensibly works to scout players with potential, especially in football, and to provide them a platform and environment where they can practise and improve their skills with the help of the best coaching, domestic camps, sports events, along with national and international exposure and to help those identified players financially, Pyngrope said in a release.
Although dubbed an association, it actually appears to be a private company with its headquarters in Patna.
Pyngrope has received many awards and other recognition as a teacher. He also said that he has helped a number of players “in improving their skills and talents in the field of football, especially those who come from underprivileged families” and will be one of those in charge of the Shillong football coaching centre of Stadium FC of Bangalore when it opens soon.
