Shillong, Apr 24: Sohra Super Nova defeated STCC Pongtung Lioness by 67 runs in the opening match of the U-17 Girls Inter Zonal Cricket Tournament 2024 in Smit today.
The tournament is being organised by the East Khasi Hills Cricket Association.
Sohra won the toss and batted first, with Banrikordor Diengdoh whacking 60 from 63 deliveries as her side posted 150/7 in the allotted 20 overs. From the bowling side, Dawanshisha Warlarpih bagged 2/16 in 4 overs.
In the chase, Adelakmen Lawai (pictured) claimed 3/33 in 4 overs as Pongtung were all out for 83 in 16.3 overs. Dawanshisha produced 42 from 38 balls to cap off a solid all-round day for her. Adela, though, was named Player of the Match.
