Shillong, Jul 14: There will be no club from Meghalaya taking part in the 2024-25 season of the All India Football Federation’s I-League 3, the country’s fourth tier.

Twenty teams were announced as scheduled to participate this year, which will be I-League 3’s second edition.

The teams largely comprise the champions of their respective state leagues that are nominated by their state associations.

Late last year Rangdajied United FC took part as champions of the Meghalaya State League 2023. They couldn’t get out of the group stage, though, as they finished second in Group C.

However, this year the MSL has yet to take place, which means that the deadline for entry has passed without Meghalaya being able to send a representative club.

Apart from state league champions, this season’s I-League 3 also includes Maharashtra Oranje FC and Kenkre FC, both of whom were relegated from I-League 2 in the 2023-24 season, while KLASA and Kerala United FC qualified through playoffs.

I-League 2024-25 teams:
KLASA FC (Manipur), Kerala United FC (Kerala), Karbi Anglong Morning Star FC (Assam), Garhwal FC (Delhi), Charutar Vidya Mandal FC (Gujarat), Sesa Football Academy (Goa), Bhuna FC (Haryana), Diamond Harbour (West Bengal), HAL SC (Karnataka), Sports Academy Tirur (Kerala), Lake City FC (Madhya Pradesh), Chanmari FC (Mizoram), Sports Odisha (Odisha), Young FC (Punjab), Jaipur Elite FC (Rajasthan), Ghaziabad City FC (Uttar Pradesh), MYJ-GMSC (Maharashtra), RKM Football Academy (Chhattisgarh), Maharashtra Oranje FC (Maharashtra), Kenkre FC (Maharashtra)
