Shillong, Aug 3: Umiew Maw U Sam SC eased their way into the semifinals with a 3-1 victory over Nongkolew SC in the second quarterfinal of the Shillong Sports Association’s U-20 Fourth Division 2024 at First Ground, Polo, here today.
Reaching the semis also means that Umiew Maw U Sam have secured promotion to next season’s Third Division.
Eller C Allya (42′), Eric Nongrum (45′) and Emanuel Rongrin (55′) scored today for Umiew, while Donkupar Mynsong pulled one back late in the day for Nongkolew but there really wasn’t enough time to stage a comeback.
The third quarterfinal is scheduled for 6th August between Nongthymmai Raitnongkynrih SC and Madanrting SC at 3:45PM.
