Shillong, Aug 7: Madan SCC came from behind to defeat Laitumkhrah SC 3-2 to bag the last of the four semifinal spots in the Shillong Sports Association’s U-20 Fourth Division 2024 at First Ground, Polo, here today.
Robindor Kyrsian (4′) gave Madan SCC the lead early only for this to be cancelled out two minutes later via Sanki K Lynser (6′). Laitumkhrah then seized the lead via Nangtei Kharbangar (19′).
In the second half of the 70-minute match Iminstar Mawlong (37′) equalised for Madan SCC. It then took an own goal by a Laitumkhrah player on 70 minutes for Madan SCC to claim victory.
All four semifinalists have secured promotion to next season’s Third Division.
The first semifinal will take place on 12th August between Umrynjah SC and Umiew Maw U Sam SC. The second semi will follow a week later between Madanrting SC and Madan SCC. Both games will kick off at 3:45PM at First Ground.
The final is slated for 24th August.
