Shillong, Sep 10: Rynjah SC enjoyed a stomping 5-1 victory over Lamlynti SC in Group D of the Shillong Sports Association’s Third Division 2024 at First Ground, Polo, here today.
The other match of the day, also in Group D, saw Mawshbuit SC and Sanmer SC engaged in a 3-3 draw.
Victory took Rynjah to first place in the group with 5 points from three games. They scored through Ginzamavi (36′), Aiboklang Nongrum (48′, 89′), Kransius Warjri (59′) and Dameki Tariang (90’+4). Lamlynti’s goal was by Ksankupar Khongngain (63′).
Lamlynti are tied with Tynring SC on 4 points. Lamlynti’s goal difference took a hit today but they have head-to-head advantage over Tynring, having won their encounter on 23rd August.
Like Rynjah, Sanmer are still unbeaten but all three of their fixtures have ended in draws.
Today they were leading 2-0 following a brace by Jonathan Mawa (43′, 50′) but Jaydence Langstang (75′) pulled one back for Mawshbuit before Banshan Dkhar (76′) restored Sanmer’s two-goal lead. Late goals from Jaydence (89′) and Iaskhemlang Wankhar (90’+4) meant that Mawshbuit came away with a point.
This was Mawshbuit’s third draw as well but they’ve played an extra game, which they lost to Tynring on 30th August.
