Shillong, Sep 17: Sanmer SC registered their first win of the season by beating Lamlynti FC 3-2 in a see-saw match in Group D of the Shillong Sports Association’s Third Division 2024 at First Ground, Polo, here today.
The other match of the day, in Group A, witnessed Kharang SC breeze past Pomlakrai SC 3-0.
Sanmer took the lead in the eighth minute via an own goal and then went 2-0 up thanks to Banshan Dkhar (29′).
A little more than half an hour later a quick double from Ksankupar Khongsain (61′) and Batskhem Thongnirit (65′) brought the scores level but Ryan Ksing provided the winner for Sanmer in the 75th minute.
Sanmer drew all three of their matches before today and now have 6 points and, with it, top spot in the points table, jumping from fourth to first. That drops Rynjah SC to second and Lamlynti to third. Lamlynti and Tynring SC are tied on points but the former have head-to-head advantage.
Later, in Group A, Kharang blanked Pomlakrai with a brace by Balajied Lyngwa (26′, 47′) and one goal from Krapjingshai Lawai (24′).
