Shillong, Mar 26: Royal CC absolutely smashed Sporting CC by 133 runs in Group A of the Shillong Cricket League Super Division 2024-25 here yesterday.
Sporting won the toss and chose to field first but 91 from 99 balls by Swastic Chettri and 48 from 61 by Pringsang Sangma saw the Royals amass 234/10 in 40 overs. Among the bowlers, Gagandeep Singh (3/32 in 8 overs) and Indarjit Rai (3/53 in 8) returned the best figures.
In reply, Sporting just made it into triple figures, being bowled out for 101 in 22 overs. Sachin Kumar’s 30 from 31 was the top score. Raj Biswa bowled beautifully for figures of 5/22 in 8 overs, while Sikandar Kumar claimed 3/13 in 4. Raj (pictured right) was named Player of the Match.
Today’s match will be between NFU and Sputnik CC in Group B. This will be the last group match of the season.
