Shillong, May 4: Meghalaya will begin the defence of their football gold at the 7th Khelo India Youth Games on Tuesday against Chandigarh.

Meghalaya were first at the 2024 edition of the Games in Tamil Nadu and will be pushing for another gold medal at this year’s competition in Bihar.

The state team will once again be coached by Jeffrey Warlarpih. Meghalaya have been slotted in Group A with Odisha, West Bengal and Chandigarh. Group B comprises Bihar, Delhi, Mizoram and Jharkhand.

Meghalaya’s second fixture will be against Odisha on 8th May and the third will see them take on West Bengal on 10th May.

The top two teams from each group will progress to the semifinals.
