Shillong, Jun 10: The Shillong Sports Association’s U-20 Fourth Division 2025 will begin on 14th June, according to revised fixtures sent out yesterday.
The league was meant to begin on 2nd June but had to be postponed due to necessary work on the drainage at the SSA Stadium in Polo.
Twenty-nine clubs have completed the registration process and they have been divided into six groups of five, except for Group F, which has four teams.
Matches will be of 80 minutes’ duration and will all be held at the SSA Stadium at First Ground, Polo.
The top two teams from each group will progress to the next round, which will see four groups of three teams each. From here, the best two teams from each group will qualify for the knockout stage, with quarterfinals followed by semifinals and final.
The four teams that reach the semifinals will be promoted to the Third Division in 2026. In another change, the team with the lowest number of points from each group will be barred from taking part in the U-20 Fourth Division next year.
