Shillong, Jun 20: Golflink blanked Laitkroh 3-0 for their second win in a row in Group A of the Shillong Sports Association’s U-20 Fourth Division 2025 at the SSA Stadium at First Ground here today.
There was also a 3-2 win for Thynroit in the same group over Risa Colony, while Mawlyngngad and Nongkohlew played out a 2-2 draw in Group B.
After drawing a blank in their 1-0 loss to Them Rangshken on Monday, Mawlyngngad looked like they were in for more of the same after they went 2-0 down in the space of 20 minutes. This was Nongkohlew’s opening match of the 2025 campaign.
Rishemlang Lawriniang (19′) took advantage of a rebound to score Nongkohlew’s first and he turned provider a minute later for team mate Shanbok Basaiawmoit (20′).
However, Mawlyngngad were able to pick themselves up in the second half, scoring their first by Bapynshngain Wankhar (58′) off a corner before S Kharsahnoh (65′) pulled the two sides level a few minutes later.
Later, in a mirroring of what happened in the opening match of the season, Thynroit twice came from behind to win against Risa Colony. Rimiki Mynsong (8′) put Risa Colony in front before Franky Nongspung (18′) cancelled the lead out with his first goal of the day.
Lamanky Nongsiej (47′) then restored Risa Colony’s advantage in the second half only for Franky (72′) and Charles Nongrum (80′) to produce two goals in the last 10 minutes to give victory to Thynroit. In their first match, Thynroit were leading three times against Golflink before the latter snatched victory.
Golflink had no such drama today as they cruised to victory over Laitkroh (who were playing their first game). Debian Suting (30′, 76′) and Robertstone Nongsiej (60′) were the scorers. Robertstone’s goal was the 50th of the season.
