Shillong, Sep 5: The Shillong Inter School Basketball Tournament, organised by DUBAKH Sports Pvt Ltd, will officially tip off on Saturday at Pearly Dew Higher Secondary School in Jaiaw Laitdom here.

The first match is scheduled to begin at 8AM and all are encouraged to come and support the teams.

Eight teams are participating for the top honours and they have been divided into two groups of four.

Group A consists of Mizo Modern HSS, St Edmund’s ISC, Mawkhar Christian and Jaiaw Presbyterian.

Group B comprises Pearly Dew HSS, Shillong Public School, Dinet Manik Memorial and Little Flower HSS.

Speaking after the managers’ meeting yesterday, the organisers expressed confidence that this tournament will not only provide a competitive environment but also strengthen the grassroots basketball movement in Shillong. The tournament promises high-intensity matches, team spirit and a platform to showcase young basketball talent.

The second day of the tournament will be held on 13th September, with the third day on 18th September. The latter will include the last of the group fixtures and the four quarterfinals. The semifinals and final will take place on 20th September.

Mizo Modern vs Mawkhar Christian, 8AM
St Edmund’s vs Jaiaw Presbyterian, 9AM
Pearly Dew vs SPS, 10AM
Dinet Manik vs Little Flower, 11AM
Mizo Modern vs St Edmund’s, 1PM
