Shillong, Oct 6: Byndihati CSC qualified for the final of the East Jaintia Hills District Football Association’s First Division 2025 by defeating Musniang SC 5-4 in a tiebreaker after regulation time finished 2-2 in the first semifinal at the Diengshynrum Ground in Khliehriat today.
Bhalangme Tariang (24′) and Tenligent Dkhar (52′) gave Byndihati a two-goal lead but Musniang fought their way back into the contest through Eleven Biam (76′) and Nikerda Dkhar (90′).
Byndihati then came through in the penalty shootout. This was the only time that Musniang have been beaten in five games this season but it proved to be the end of their campaign; they had previously won four out of four games played.
Qualifying for the final also means that Byndihati have secured promotion to next season’s Super Division.
Tomorrow, at 2PM, Rymbai Synrangshahkhain SC will take on Wahiajer Narpuh in the second semifinal.
