Shillong, Feb 3: Khimusniang of West Jaintia Hills entered the final of the 1st Pongtung Winter Cup 2025–2026 after defeating Nongthymmai SC of Shillong 1-0 in the second semifinal today.
The lone and decisive goal of the match was scored by Gideon Mukhim in the 80th minute.
Stephanson Pale (pictured left) of Khimusniang was named Player of the Match for an outstanding performance.
The final will be held on 7th February, with Khimusniang facing Jaguar FC, who won the first semifinal last week.
Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong will be the chief guest. The winners will receive Rs 2 lakh in prize money, while the runners-up will take home Rs 1 lakh.
The tournament is organised by Seng Treilang Sport & Cultural Club, Pongtung.
