Shillong, Feb 20: Sporting CC defeated Young Guns CC by five wickets in Group B of the Shillong Cricket League Super Division 2026, organised by the Shillong Cricket Association, in Polo yesterday.
Young Guns won the toss and chose to bat first but were bundled out for 117 in 29.1 overs, with a top score of 27 from 35 balls by Manthan Dey. Purav Agarwal (3/8 in 5.1 overs) and Sachin Kumar (3/11 in 9 overs) were the most successful bowlers.
Sporting only needed 17.5 overs to chase down the target, though they did lose five wickets in the process. Rohit Kumar Yadav hit 39 from 33 deliveries, while Avinash Rai contributed 33 from 42. Grish Raj Ray (2/27 in 5 overs) and Mewankitbok Kharpuri (2/36 in 6) took a couple of scalps each for Young Guns.
