Shillong, Mar 2: Sputnik defeated Nongmynsong by 44 runs in Group A of the Shillong Cricket League Super Division 2026, organised by the Shillong Cricket Association, in Polo today.
A good contest between bat and ball saw defending champions Sputnik make 298/7 in their 45 overs after being invited to bat first. Swarajeet Das batted superbly for an unbeaten century of 142 from 129 deliveries, while Amiangshu Sen made 80 from 82.
PM Santhosh (2/43 in 9 overs) and Anish Charak (2/48 in 9) were the most successful bowlers.
Nongmynsong batted well in the chase but were limited to 254/7 in 45 overs. Abhishek Gupta top-scored with 55 from 73 balls, while Pushkar Raj Singh was not out on 38 from 26 at the end.
Arbin Singh bagged 3/43 in 8 overs and Avinav Choudhury 2/31 in 9. Centurion Swarajeet was declared Player of the Match.
