Shillong, Jun 30: Lummawbah and Lawmali Pyllun qualified for the knockout rounds of the Shillong Sports Association’s Third Division 2026 from Group B by winning their respective matches here today.
While Lawmali Pyllun edged Kharang 2-1, Lummawbah struck once to pip Umphyrnai 1-0. Matches in the Third Division are of 80 minutes’ duration.
Adelbert K Sun scored for toppers Lummawbah in the 42nd minute to give his team 7 points from three games.
Earlier, there were a couple of own goals, one in favour of Lawmali in the 17th minute before another in the 27th at the other end of the pitch for Kharang. Mebanteilang Marbaniang (68′) then netted the winner for Lawmali in the second half.
Lawmali finished their group campaign with 4 points and second place. Both Kharang and Umphyrnai ended with 2 points and the same goal difference (-1) but Kharang are third based on goals scored (2 to Umphyrnai’s 0).
