Shillong, Aug 26: Umrynjah defeated Sohiong 2-0 in Group C of the Shillong Sports Association’s Second Division 2026 here today.
The other match of the day, also in Group C, saw Jongksha grab their first point in a 1-1 draw with Sohryngkham.
Mihsalan Kharjana (20′) and Kitboklang L Marshillong (77′) scored on either side of half time for Umrynjah at the MFA Ground to give them their second victory.
Over at the SSA Stadium, Babiang Umsong (44′) struck first for Jongksha before Balatei Kharpran (64′) equalised in the second half. Jongksha had lost all three of their previous fixtures and they have a chance to avoid the Relegation Zone that will follow the group stage if they can win their last match to come.
There has been no change in the standings after today. While Umrynjah now equal Sohryngkham on 7 points and have the better goal difference (+3 compared to -3), Sohrynghkam have head-to-head advantage after winning their meeting on 10th August.
