Shillong, Nov 9: Garhwal United will have four top Meghalaya players in their squad for the upcoming Indian Women’s League (IWL) 2026-27, which will begin in a few days’ time.
In addition, the club’s goalkeeping coach is also from Meghalaya. The five are (pictured left to right) Ribansi Jamu, Sanfida Nongrum, Frolicson Dkhar (goalkeeping coach), Fragrancy Riwan and Bonifilia Shullai.
All four of the players were with Garhwal Utd when they won promotion to the IWL from IWL 2 in 2024-25.
Since then they have all played for the Indian national team, from the U-17 level (Bonifilia) to the U-20s (Fragrancy) and senior side (Ribansi and Sanfida).
Garhwal, however, only had a middling season in the IWL in 2025-26, finishing in sixth place out of eight teams.
They will play their first match on 16th November against Nita FA. The first 20 matches of the IWL season will all take place at the Kalyani Stadium in West Bengal.
