Shillong, May 14: Shillong Lajong FC return to home turf for their final home match of the Indian Football League 2025-26 season, as they take on Rajasthan United FC tomorrow evening at 6:30PM at the SSA Stadium, Polo.

Lajong head into this crucial fixture following a hard-fought 1-1 draw away against Sreenidi Deccan FC and will be aiming to capitalise on home advantage in front of their passionate supporters.

The Reds are second in the standings on 22 points (behind leaders Diamond Harbour FC on 28) and still have a slim chance of lifting the title, though they will need to win tomorrow as the first step on that quest. Diamond Harbour could, however, also claim the trophy as early as Sunday if they take a point in their clash with Dempo SC.

Speaking ahead of the match, Lajong coach Birendra Thapa said, “We are positive and focused on getting a good result tomorrow. There is still a mathematical chance for us, but our focus remains on taking it one game at a time.”

Lajong’s first match of 2025-26 was against the same opponents and that meeting ended 1-1 in Shillong. Rajasthan, on the other hand, are out of the running for the title and sit fourth.

“Rajasthan United may not have much to play for in terms of standings, but they are a quality side. We cannot afford to take them lightly,” Thapa added.
