Shillong, Apr 28: Lionel Daryl Rymmei has headed off to Italy as part of the India U-15 football team that will take part in the MU-15 Championship.
India will play against the United States, Mexico and Slovenia, the All India Football Federation said on its website. However, the AIFF have not named the members of the Indian squad.
Rymmei’s inclusion was revealed by Kick Start Football Coaching Centre yesterday. The teenager had been a member of Kick Start before moving to Bhaichung Bhutia Football Schools.
TSR had reported in February that Rymmei had been called for an Indian camp and it looks like his performance and fitness levels were up to the mark.
India are going on this exposure tour as part of their preparations for the AFC U-16 Qualifiers, which will be held later this year.
