Shillong, Jul 2: Rynjah qualified for the final of the Fourth Division (as well as securing promotion to next season’s Third Division) after a 1-1 draw with Green Age Club at Second Ground, Polo, today.
After a goalless first half Balasuklang Risaw put Green Age into the lead in the 55th minute with a flick that beat Rynjah goalkeeper Akash Thapa following good work and a neat chip from the left by Aibanrap Dohling, but Rynjah’s B Lyngdoh was able to equalise in the 70+1 minute. This was the first and only goal that GAC conceded in four games, but it proved to be the end to their season.
Both sides thus concluded the group stage with eight points each. They also have the same goal difference (+3), but Rynjah topped the group thanks to having scored more goals (6 to 4).
