Shillong, Jul 19: Kolkata club Southern Samity have signed the talented Meghalaya forward Sheen Sohktung ahead of the Calcutta Football League, it was announced yesterday.
Sohktung has joined the club from Ryntih. He had previously played for Shillong Lajong (pictured during the I-League) and Rangdajied United.
The 24-year-old scored six of Ryntih’s 15 goals in their only season of the Shillong Premier League, back in 2019 (you can catch a recap of those in the video below).
He had also made 22 appearances for Lajong in the I-League (most of which as a substitute) and scored one goal for them in the competition.
Southern Samity will be playing in Group 1 of the CFL Premier Division A. The Kolkata club also announced the signings of ex-Lajong midfielder Lalawmpuia Hnamte and one time Langsning defender Sonam Bhutia.
