Shillong, Nov 30: Daman & Diu overturned a one-goal deficit to beat Meghalaya 2-1 in their Group A match of the women’s Senior National Football Championship in Kuthuparamba, Kerala, today.
Ibashisha Khongwet put Meghalaya into the lead in the 34th minute but Daman & Diu fought back and found the equaliser in the 51st minute via Nirmala Durve.
Jeewanti then found the back of the net in the 79th to snatch all available points away from Meghalaya.
There is just one game to go for the women’s team and that will be against Pondicherry on 2nd December at 2:30PM.
