Shillong, May 9: Imson ended their campaign in the Shillong Sports Association’s First Division with a 3-0 defeat to Lawsohtun at Third Ground, Polo, here today.
This was Imson’s sixth and final match, as well as their fifth loss, and they now drop to the bottom of the seven-team table.
Eddy Dhar (44′) scored towards the end of the first half, while Pynkhrawkupar Kharbuli (51′) added the second early in the second half. Rohit Rasaily (90′) found the last goal of the game right at the end.
The win moves Lawsohtun up one place to fourth in the standings. They now have 8 points to Umphyrnai’s 7.
Imson have just 1 point, like Smit. However, the former now have a goal difference of -9 compared to Smit’s -8; the two sides drew 0-0 in their meeting on 16th April. Smit, however, have one more match to go, against Nongrim Hills on Thursday.
