Shillong, May 10: There were victories for Nongdawah CC and Cricket Lovers in the East Khasi Hills’ Cricket Association’s T20 Tournament today.
In the first match, Nongdawah won the toss and chose to field first against Sohra Combine, who made 78 all out in 14 of 15 available overs (reduced due to a wet outfield). James Marbaniang top-scored with 22, while player-of-the-match Rilanstar Dkhar (featured photo) scalped 4/17. In reply, Nongdawah reached the target in 11 overs with the loss of only three wickets.
Cricket Lovers were made to bat first by Pumshutia CC in the second game and smashed an incredible 230 runs in their 20 overs for the loss of four wickets. Rohit Kumar Yadav struck 88 off 59 balls and Riboklang Hynniewta 60 off 31.
In reply Pomshutia were restricted to 124/8 in 20 overs, with Nightstar Khongtani making 27. Hynniewta bagged 2/8 in 4 overs and was named player-of-the-match as his team won by 106 runs. His team mate Mehraf Sarkar, meanwhile, took 2/24.
