Shillong, Apr 9: Three runners from Meghalaya won medals at today’s Guwahati Half Marathon.
Daniel Wahlang took gold in the men’s 6km race, dubbed the ‘Spirit Run’, with Sainkupar Jyrwa third in the same event, an official press release informed today.
In the men’s 21km half marathon ‘Glory Run’, Wolbetstar Ramsiej won the silver medal. The runners’ times were not provided in the press release.
The event was organised by the IIT Guwahati student team as part of Techniche, the institute’s annual techno-management fest.
Around 2,500 people from around the country took part in the various categories. The theme this year was ‘Run for Zero Hunger’.
The half marathon began first from Nehru Stadium and was followed by the 6km run.
