Shillong, Apr 21: West Khasi Hills District Cricket Association defeated Shillong Cricket Association-A by 39 runs to claim the title of Women’s Cricket League 2022-23 champions at Polo Ground here yesterday.

The tournament was organised by the Shillong Cricket Association and was of 20 overs a side.

WKH won the toss in the final and batted first where they made 102/8 in their allotted overs. Abiezer K Syiem top-scored with 18 and Monycable Marbaniang hit 14, while Pinky Chanda scalped 3/25 and Neelam Roy 2/19.

In the chase, though, SCA-A were bundled out for just 63 in 15.2 overs despite Mansi Anand’s 25. Deiphibapynshngain L Mawnai claimed 2/6 and Emisakani Warjri 2/8. Mawnai, who also scored 12 for WKH, was named Player of the Match.
