Shillong, May 9: The Shillong Sports Association announced yesterday that the second edition of its Women’s Football League has been tentatively scheduled to begin on 3rd June.
Mawlai SC were the inaugural champions, beating Laitkor SC in the final last year. Twelve clubs in all took part last season.
Clubs affiliated with the SSA in East Khasi Hills are eligible to take part. There will be no increase in prize money, which will remain at Rs 30,000 for the champions and Rs 18,000 for the runners-up. The length of the matches will remain at 30 minutes per half.
Participating clubs must pay an entry fee of Rs 1,000 per team, which should be paid to the SSA before 27th May. Registration forms of Rs 50 per set of five sheets, will be supplied by the SSA office to each team on the day of receipt of entry fee.
Team can register a maximum of 25 players at Rs 50 each. Registration of players should be completed by 1st June.
Players must produce a photocopy of their Covid-19 vaccination certificate in order to register. Those without valid documents will be rejected and teams will not be allowed to protest the SSA’s decision.
Participating clubs can also register a maximum of three officials.
