Shillong, Oct 2: Meghalaya roared to a 4-1 victory over Telangana in their first Group B match of the Junior Girls’ National Football Championship (Tier 2) today in Jaipur.
The girls were got off to a fine start with a seventh minute goal by Eiladki Ksoo but they had to wait for an hour before the second one was scored by Dakani Shylla (68′).
Alige Sushanthika reduced the margin for Telangana in the 79th minute but Shylla scored her second five minutes later before Balabet Khongsit put the result beyond doubt in the 87th minute with Meghalaya’s fourth and last goal.
Meghalaya, coached by Janbor Marbaniang, will be in action against hosts Rajasthan next on Wednesday.
