Shillong, Nov 20: Laitkyrhong SC defeated Lumshyiap SC in Group B of the Shillong Sports Association’s Second Division 2023 at First Ground, Polo, here. The match took place on Friday but the results were only shared with TSR yesterday.
The other game on the day, between Pohkseh SC and Umphrup SC (also in Group B) ended 1-1. Here, Alfredy Jyrwa (36′) and Freddy Kharbyngar (74′) scored for each side respectively.
Later, Nangsankupar Warlarpih netted the opening goal for Laitkyrhong in the 14th minute but Mebanshngaid Kurkalang (26′) equalised 12 minutes later.
Learningstar Warlarpih (38′, 66′) then netted a brace to give Laitkyrhong full points.
Tomorrow will be the final of the Third Division 2023, between PFR Football Academy and Mylliem Lum SC. The match will kick-off at 2PM at First Ground.
