Shillong, Sep 23: Meghalaya Police registered their third win in four games to maintain their lead of Group A of the Shillong Sports Association’s Second Division 2024 here today.
MLP beat Umphrup 1-0 at First Ground, Polo, after Sohiong SC rolled over Imson SC 3-0.
Wanskhemlang K Mawlong (19′) scored the police’s only goal.
MLP now have 10 points, while Sohiong are on 7 thanks to their win against bottom side Imson.
All three goals came in the second half, with Coming Jana (54′, 59′) providing a brace and Albert Malngiang (69′) one goal.
Tomorrow will see the first two of the Third Division 2024 quarterfinals take place.
