Shillong, Sep 29: Meghalaya Police destroyed Nongrah 6-0 in the opening match of the Shillong Sports Association’s First Division 2025 at the SSA Stadium at First Ground, Polo, here today.
Lalintus Marak (15′), Pynshailang Lyngkhoi (46′, 69′), Bansiewdor Wahlang (85′, 90′) and Chesterfield Nongdhar (90’+1) were the scorers.
Meghalaya Police were the champions of the Second Division last year and were promoted to this season’s First Division.
Each of the 10 teams will play each of the others once. Like in the SPL, there will be no final – whichever team finishes the round robin stage on top will be crowned champions.
