Shillong, Jan 10: Bihar pulled out a 270-run lead over Meghalaya at the end of the second day of their U-23 Col CK Nayudu Trophy at the MCA Cricket Ground here today.

At stumps Bihar were 219/8. The visitors had taken a 51-run first innings lead over Meghalaya after bowling out the hosts for 100 in the morning.

Overnight Meghalaya were on 41/6, but a brisk 32 by Number 10 Kartik Pawar ensured that the home team were able to get to triple figures before they were all out.

Meghalaya’s bowlers troubled Bihar in the second innings as well, but a fine innings of 75 by captain Sachin Kumar Singh saw them out of danger. Sachin hit 12 fours on both the off side and leg side before he was caught by Kenny Wann off the bowling of Akash Kumar.

Abhishek Kumar then frustrated the hosts and he was not out on 47 at stumps.

By the end of the day Pawar had figures of 4/79, while Akash had taken 2/54. Arbin Singh (1/26) and Md Nafees (1/33) were the other wicket-takers for Meghalaya.
