Shillong, Apr 2: Shillong Lajong will play their first match of the U-15 Junior League season on Sunday in an away contest against Numaligarh Refinery Limited Football Academy in the Shillong-Guwahati Zone.
Lajong are the only team from Shillong taking part, with the other teams in the group, like NRL, based in Assam – NorthEast United and Gauhati Town Club.
NRL are finishing off all of their home games first. They played NorthEast United yesterday (where they were 7-0 victors), will then face GTC on Thursday before Lajong come to town on the weekend.
Lajong have yet to reveal their squad. They did not progress out of the zonal round last season, finishing third behind Sports Authority of India Guwahati and GTC.
