Shillong, Jul 28: Ryntih were crowned champions of Wahiajer SC’s 5th Invitation Knockout Football Tournament yesterday by defeating Combine FC 2-0 in the final.
Sheen Sohktung put the eventual winners into the lead in the 58th minute and Dibinroy Nongspung doubled it 20 minutes later.
Sohktung was also named man-of-the-match.
As champions Ryntih, who will make their Shillong Premier League debut next month, took home Rs 2 lakh, with Combine receiving Rs 1 lakh in prize money.
