Shillong, Aug 17: Nongkrem and Smit played out an entertaining, yet goalless, draw in the First Division at the JN Stadium here today.

Both sides created opportunities, had their shots on goal and gave their numerous fans in the stands plenty of entertainment, but it ended all square at the end of 90 minutes.

The last time we had a goalless draw in the First Division was on 24th July. Nongkrem were also involved in that match, which was against Mawlai.

The draw gives Smit 10 points now, tied with Meghalaya Police, but Smit have head-to-head advantage after beating the cops 2-1 on 20th July. Nongkrem move to five points, but are still behind Lawsohtun as the latter won 2-1 against them on Tuesday.

On Monday, Mawlai are scheduled to face Imson at 3:15PM.
