Shillong, Sep 22: Khlain Pyrkhat Syiemlieh has been named as Ryntih’s head coach for the I-League Qualifiers.
Although he has not yet been featured in Ryntih’s social media posts, Syiemlieh was named as head coach of the Meghalaya hopefuls in an All India Football Federation feature on the club.
“Ryntih Sports Club will be heading into its debut in the I-League Qualifiers with exciting and promising young talents and with a mixture of experience and raw talents to have inculcated the belief that there is no feat that is unachievable,” Syiemlieh was quoted as saying.
The coach has been with Rangdajied United for around a decade, helping them qualify for the I-League 2013-14 season. However, it had been rumoured over the last few months that he and RUFC would split. Ryntih will have been attracted towards him as Syiemlieh possesses an AFC A Licence, which is mandatory for coaches at the level that the club wants to play.
“The dedication that the team have shown in these past few months will reap the benefits at the event and we shall go all guns blazing to bring glory back to our state,” Syiemlieh further said. “We are a community-based club that was established to promote local talent and now we want to showcase the talents of our local boys at the national stage.”
