Shillong, Sep 27: The Meghalaya State Futsal League began today at the Sports Authority of India campus at NEHU with nine matches on the first day.

The tournament is being organised by the Meghalaya Football Association and will run until 2nd October. There are 17 participating teams split into four groups.

Just the scores were provided by the organisers today. The first game saw Ryntih draw with Mawtneng 7-7, while Shillong Lajong beat Mawtnum 12-6. Mawkhar were 8-1 winners over Western Ri-Bhoi SA, Mawlai defeated Western Ri-Bhoi United 10-4 and Ryntih came back with a 10-5 victory against Little Star FC.

The other results saw Pyndengrei edge Sakwang 8-6, Mawkohphet defeat Bugara United 12-3, Niaw Wasa beat Rongkhon SA 13-7 and Little Star Academy squeak past Mynthong 10-9.

The action continues tomorrow.
