Shillong, Mar 8: The Meghalaya Wushu Association has congratulated Francis RR Songthiang on passing the Grade A coaching certificate course conducted by the Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports in Patiala.
The course was of six weeks’ duration.
Niawki Iakai, a qualified national referee, also sat this course but he has to clear one theory class which was left pending “due to unavoidable circumstances”, the MWA said in a release today.
The MWA also described Songthiang’s achievement as another step in promoting the sport of wushu in Meghalaya. “We are looking forward to the government providing the MWA with proper infrastructure for further development of wushu as a recognised sport,” it added.
