Shillong, Oct 25: Kharang SC became the first team to reach the semifinal stage of the Shillong Sports Association’s U-20 Fourth Division after pipping Pommura SC 1-0 in the first quarterfinal here today.
Laban Taro, Kharang’s top scorer this season with three goals, provided the only breakthrough of the game in the 47th minute at First Ground, Polo.
The two teams got to this stage after Kharang finished at the top of Group B, while Pommura were runners-up in Group D.
Tomorrow, Mawpdang SC face Iatyllilang FC. Mawpdang had topped Group C, while Iatyllilang were second in Group A.
