Shillong, May 24: Shillong Cricket Association (A) defeated Eastern West Khasi Hills District Cricket Association by 43 runs in the final of the Shillong Cricket Association’s Women’s League at Polo Ground here yesterday.

EWKHDCA won the toss and bowled first, with SCA(A) making 122/3 in their 20 overs. Rubi Chettri top-scored with 39 and Deimashisha Lamare made 32.

In response, EWKHDCA were kept down to 79/6 in their 20 overs, with Dubleen Nengnong’s 28 being the high score. Neha Hajong (2/13) and Monica Singh (2/19) had the best bowling figures.

Rubi, who also bagged a wicket, was Player of the Match, while Neha was the Player of the Tournament.

Seven teams in all took part this year. Group A consisted of SCA(A), East Khasi Hills Cricket Association, South West Khasi Hills District Cricket Association and EWKHDCA. The three-team Group B consisted of SCA(B), West Jaintia Hills District Cricket Association and West Khasi Hills District Cricket Association.
