Shillong, Jul 14: The second round of the Shillong Sports Association’s U-20 Fourth Division 2025 began today at the SSA Stadium at First Ground, Polo, here. There were wins for Laitlulong and Lapalang against Golflink and Them Rangshken respectively.

This is the first time that the Fourth Division is employing this round robin pre-quarterfinal format. The best 12 teams from the group stage have been divided into four pools of three and the top two sides from these pools will make it to the quarterfinals.

Golflink had won all of their first round matches in Group A, while Laitlulong just managed to qualify for the second round from Group D as the second-best team on goals scored. However, Laitlulong emerged the victors today in Pool 1, taking the match 2-0 with a stunning free-kick from Wallamjingsuk Dkhar (27′) followed by a goal on the run by Damewanpli Rani (60′) in the second half.

Similarly, Them Rangshken were unbeaten in Group B but suffered a 3-1 defeat to Lapalang today in Pool 2. Lapalang were second in Group C, having won two, drawn one and lost one match.

Stevenson Sungoh (38′) struck first for Lapalang in the first half of the 80-minute match, while team mates Emineki Pohthmi (49′) and Superlative Khongngain (80′) followed suit in the second half. Wellborn Khyriem (68′) scored Them Rangshken’s only goal.

Pool 3 – Mawkasiang vs Lummawbah, 1PM
Pool 4 – Mawphlang vs Laitkroh, 4PM
