Shillong, Feb 9: Jaguar FC went down in history as the first champions of the inaugural Pontung Winter Cup 2025-26 after they beat Khimusniang 2-0 in the final on Saturday.
The winning goals for the Jaguars were scored by Kynsaibor Lhuid and Apborlang Kurbah.
The victors took home Rs 2 lakh in prize money, while runners-up Khimusniang were awarded Rs 1 lakh.
Individual awards were also distributed at the closing ceremony. Owanijuh Pajuh (Jaguar FC) was named Best Player, Denelson Pyngrope (Jaguar FC) the Best Defender, Emerald Dan (Khimusniang) the Best Goalkeeper and Gideon Mukhim (Khimusniang) the Top Scorer.
The chief guest at the final was Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong.
