Shillong, Aug 29: Moonongtdu SC and Tongseng Youth SYSC won their respective Round of 16 matches in contrasting styles in the East Jaintia Hills District Football Association’s Third Division 2026 in Khliehriat today.
While Moonongtdu soundly defeated Wahsarang SC 3-0, Tongseng Youth required a penalty shootout to get past Umstain SSCC.
Etilast Lyngdoh (19′) and Poibiang Lamurong (29′, 40’+2) scored in Moonongtdu’s win that took them to the quarterfinals.
Later, Eveningland Pohshna (1′) scored in the first minute for Umstain before Fining Lyngdoh (61′) equalised an hour later. The match was then taken to penalties where Tongseng won 5-4.
