Shillong, Dec 21: After sitting out the competition for the last few years, Langsning are aiming to compete in this season’s Second Division League with the ultimate aim of qualifying for the I-League.
If they do that they will be the fourth club from Shillong to take part in the I-League, following in the footsteps of Shillong Lajong (2009-10 to the present), Rangdajied United (2013-14) and the erstwhile Royal Wahingdoh (2014-15).
The 2017 Shillong Premier League champions received an email from the All India Football Federation on Monday to inform them that their nomination by the Meghalaya Football Association for participation in the Second Division has been accepted.
However, Langsning, and the rest of the nominees, are still to undergo the club licensing process, which needs to be completed successfully before they’re allowed to take part in the tournament. The last date for the submission of all club licensing documents is 8th January.
